About Us
The surfboard claw is a fantastic tool for anyone who has ever had problems carrying their board (or their kids boards) to the surf break!
In 2016, Darrell Sue See, inventor and long-time surfer, noticed how difficult it was for many surfers to carry their wider and heavier boards. Surfers had to carry wider boards on their heads, with children, especially struggling. Darrell made several metal prototypes which were tested extensively before coming up with the latest design. The first “Claws” were released in 2018, however, through unforeseen circumstances they went out of production for several years.
In October 2024, Darrell teamed up with Janet White of Classic Malibu, who has over 35 years of experience in the surfboard industry, specializing in longboards. Together they produced a more updated model with a slightly deeper hook than Darrell’s original claw. They formed a company “Surfboard Claw Pty Ltd” and the newest designs were finished in December 2024.
